PF.IE.EPA.IPPC_EmissionPts
The location of emission points from IPPC (Integrated Pollution Provention and Control) facilities (EPA Licensed, applied, closed etc.)
IPC licences aim to prevent or reduce emissions to air, water and land, reduce waste and use energy/resources efficiently.

An Ordnance Datum or OD is a vertical datum used by an ordnance survey as the basis for deriving altitudes on maps. A spot height may be expressed as AOD for "above ordnance datum". Usually mean sea level (MSL) is used for the datum.
Malin Ordnance Datum
Derivation of vertical height or depth (in metres)
In the Republic of Ireland, OD for the Ordnance Survey of Ireland is Malin Ordnance Datum: the Mean Sea Level (MSL) at Portmoor Pier, Malin Head, County Donegal, between 1960 and 1969.

It is required for applicants of an IPPC license to include proposed and current emission points when applying for the licence. The application is checked for emission point information and the coordinate are used to append new points onto the existing dataset. Attributes such as point code, coordinates, type of emission and accuracy of coordinates are all recorded from the application. Once the licence is granted the emission points are checked again to see if there have been any changes in the licence. Spatial Accuracy: The points are not verified and a large proportion have no coordinates and lie at 0,0. Thematic Accuracy: Some of the points in the application are not given proper codes and so codes are sometimes generated based on the type and number of emissions (e.g. EA1 = Emission to Air 1). Each has the EPA reg code for the facility that it is assigned to and a unique ID containing a combination of the EPA regcode and the emission point code.
The EPA must be notified if any errors or emissions are found. It is not permitted to distribute electronic copies of this data to any other party without the prior consent of the data holders (Environmental Protection Agency). The data source must be appropriately acknowledged.
