An Ordnance Datum or OD is a vertical datum used by an ordnance survey as the basis for deriving altitudes on maps. A spot height may be expressed as AOD for "above ordnance datum". Usually mean sea level (MSL) is used for the datum.
Malin Ordnance Datum
Derivation of vertical height or depth (in metres)
In the Republic of Ireland, OD for the Ordnance Survey of Ireland is Malin Ordnance Datum: the Mean Sea Level (MSL) at Portmoor Pier, Malin Head, County Donegal, between 1960 and 1969.

Provision of the nutrient sensitive areas included within the Register are those waters listed in the Urban Waste Water Treatment (UWWT) Directive 91/271/EEC and Regulations S.I. No. 208/1999, S.I. 254/2001, S.I. 440/2004 and S.I. 48/2010. The waterbody containing the sensitive area is used to represent the nutrient sensitive area. Surface Waterbodies that intersect the Nutrient Sensitive Areas were selected to form the Register of Protected Areas protected Ground Waterbodies under the Urban Waste Water Treatment (UWWT) Directive 91/271/EEC and Regulations S.I. No. 208/1999, S.I. 254/2001, S.I. 440/2004 and S.I. 48/2010.
