CORINE 2012 Revised is a revised version of the previously released CORINE 2012 landcover dataset. It forms part of the CORINE 2018 data series for Ireland and is produced under the COPERNICUS Land Monitoring service. The dataset will replace the existing CORINE 2012 dataset for Ireland and will be integrated into a seamless CORINE 2012 landcover map of Europe. The dataset is based on interpretation of satellite imagery and national in-situ vector data. It is mapped to the standard CORINE classification system (<a href="https://land.copernicus.eu/user-corner/technical-library/corine-land-cover-nomenclature-guidelines/html/"/>link</a>) and data specifications - minimum mapping unit (mmu) of 5ha and the minimum feature width of 100m.
To map the national landcover of Ireland as part of the pan-European CORINE data series which is under the COPERNICUS Land Monitoring service.

An Ordnance Datum or OD is a vertical datum used by an ordnance survey as the basis for deriving altitudes on maps. A spot height may be expressed as AOD for "above ordnance datum". Usually mean sea level (MSL) is used for the datum.
Malin Ordnance Datum
Derivation of vertical height or depth (in metres)
In the Republic of Ireland, OD for the Ordnance Survey of Ireland is Malin Ordnance Datum: the Mean Sea Level (MSL) at Portmoor Pier, Malin Head, County Donegal, between 1960 and 1969.

The Corine Land Cover database for Ireland has been updated for the reference year 2018. The revised CORINE 2012 25ha landcover dataset is one of three deliverables of the CORINE 2018 project. During the CORINE 2018 project any errors or omissions which were detected were corrected to create an updated, revised CORINE 2012 dataset. Satellite imagery from April 2011 – June 2012 served as the basis for image interpretation.
The Irish CORINE 2018 project follows on from the semi-automated production methodology which was designed during the CORINE 2012 project. This approach uses national in-situ geo-spatial information on agriculture, forestry and water bodies from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), the Forest Service, Coillte and the EPA. These data sources were used alongside remote sensing based interpretation of satellite imagery (Sentinel 2, Landsat, SPOT and IRS) to identify landcover status and landcover change. A tool developed by the CORINE technical team was then used in an ArcGIS environment to combine the revised CORINE2012 and the 5ha 2012-2018 change dataset to produce the final CORINE 2018 25ha landcover dataset.
The EPA must be notified if any errors or emissions are found. It is not permitted to distribute electronic copies of this data to any other party without the prior consent of the data holders (Environmental Protection Agency). The data source must be appropriately acknowledged.
